and interested in performing the necessary periodic maintenance and minor

Club Work Day: DO YOU NEED 2008 WORK HOURS? Saturday, September 6, 8:30 AM, has been set for a club wide workday. Projects include tree branch trimming, outdoor range (all ranges) repairs & cleanup, indoor range cleanup, general clubhouse cleanup, clubhouse perimeter cleanup, general grounds cleanup, etc. PLEASE bring appropriate tools (tree branch trimmers, chain saws, brush trimmers, some open trailers for hauling brush), gloves, etc. The more people we have the quicker the work can be accomplished. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE:
Even though the US Supreme ruled in favor of our 2nd
Amendments Rights to own/possess firearms, there are still a substantial number
of ANTI-GUN bills pending in the Illinois General Assembly. Please contact your respective
representative, either in Springfield or thru his/her local office and POLITELY
request that he/she vote against any and all pending ANTI-GUN legislation. Additionally, politely request that he/she
vote FOR the CONCEALED-CARRY LAW that is also pending. The phone numbers are in your phone
book. They are also available thru the
CSC, ISRA.org and NRAILA.org websites.

Annual Membership Meeting, Elections, & Proposed By-Laws Revisions: Mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 12, 6:30 p.m., in the Clubhouse. The next newsletter (October) will have all the details including an insert with Proposed Club By-laws changes/revisions. Please consider running for an available Board position (5 positions) or Club Officer (if eligible) position (4 positions).
GUN SHOW
The CSC semi-annual gun show is scheduled for the September 27 & 28 weekend in the Clubhouse. Show times are: Saturday, September 27, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & Sunday, September 28, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Work Party Dates are set for Friday, September 26, 9:00 a.m. till done for building cleanup, Show setup, Dealer setup; and Sunday, September 28, after the show closes, for Show takedown, help Dealer’s move out, building cleanup. Work Hour Credits will be given.
Desserts (PIES ONLY) are also needed for the Show Kitchen. Work Hour Credits will be given for help and pies provided (3/4 hour per pie provided). Make sure your pies are in containers you do not want back. Cakes have been dropped from the dessert offerings as they do not sell!

are casual center-fire off-hand rifle matches at 50 meters for rifles with open
sights and pre-1964 military bolt action repeaters. The next match is September 27th.

Special Challenge Match is “Bad-Guy – Blind Target”. These special targets will have additional scoring opportunities
from the “Bad Guys” on the blind/hidden reverse side of the targets. Being “blind”, this will involve a great
deal of chance. Any Mauser Match rifle
& ammunition combination may be used.

TEMPORARILY AWAY FROM HOME/NEW ADDRESS
Are you going to be “TEMPORARILY AWAY” (maybe for the winter, an extended vacation or job demands)? More and more monthly newsletters are being returned to the Club marked as “TEMPORARILY AWAY”! When you notify the Post Office that you are going to be “TEMPORARILY AWAY” they will ONLY HOLD or FORWARD 1ST CLASS MAIL. All other mail is returned to the sender. Your monthly newsletter is mailed to you using Bulk Rate Postage. Consequently, your newsletter is returned to the Club marked POSTAGE DUE @ $ .42 which the Club has to pay to retrieve it. These newsletters cannot be forwarded, as we do not know where to send them.
Members that have “MOVED TO A NEW ADDRESS” and have
not notified the Club of their NEW ADDRESS also have their newsletters returned
marked POSTAGE DUE @ $ .42.
The Post Office will not forward these newsletters. The Club then pays another $ .42 postage to
forward it to you and updates your file to reflect your new address. Please notify the Club when you move!
