OUT-DOOR WORK DAY: The recent flooding has left a lot of trash wood scattered all over our grounds and ranges. Pickups, open trailers, chain saws, gloves, etc., and HELP are needed on SATURDAY, MAY 2, 8:00 A.M., to get all of this junk wood cleaned up and burned or stacked for future chipping. INDOOR WORK DAY: The final spring Indoor Range Cleanup is scheduled for SATURDAY, MAY 9, 9:00 A.M. The range needs to be thoroughly cleaned. The walls and backstop are also scheduled be painted. HELP is needed. Questions – contact Bob Bjerke @ (309) 692-1800.
YSSI WEEKEND KUDOS: The YSSI Weekend Shooting Day of April 18 was a resounding success. Mother nature held off on the rain until late Saturday evening. This year’s 91 participants (Boy Scouts, Adult Leaders, & a few leader’s daughters who came for the weekend) expended almost 9,000 rounds of 22-caliber ammunition on the Indoor Rifle Range, Cowboy Town, Buffalo Range, and CMP Range. The Trap Range expended approximately 4,000 clay birds and over 10 cases of 12 & 20 Gauge shells. The amounts of other calibers expended on the other various ranges (Buffalo, CMP, & Muzzleloading) are not yet known. THE PARTICIPANTS ASKED THAT A HEARTY THANK-YOU BE GIVEN TO ALL OF THE CSC MEMBERS WHO HELPED MAKE THIS A VERY MEMORABLE WEEKEND FOR THEM!
M-1 J. C. GARAND MATCH: The M-1 J. C. Garand Match will be held on Saturday, May 16, immediately following the regularly scheduled CMP Match. Come out and participate. The Club has some M-1 Garands available for your use and ammunition available for purchase for this match. Questions – contact Steve Schneckenburger @ (309) 692-7807.
LOST GUN OWNER: Cliff Wilcox has repaired your .22 caliber rifle that you
purchased at our April Gun Show.
However Cliff has lost the card that contained your (owner) name &
telephone number. Please call Cliff
Wilcox @ (309) 579-2793, to arrange getting back your rifle.
SAFETY: Vision & hearing are very important to each person. PLEASE remember to wear the appropriately required eye and hearing protection whenever you are on any of the ranges.
Remember to always place your targets so that all fired rounds impact the backstops. This action will minimize the possibility of any fired rounds richoting out of the range.

are casual center-fire off-hand rifle matches at 50 meters for rifles with open
sights and pre-1964 military bolt action repeaters. The next match is May 9th.

TEMPORARILY AWAY/NEW ADDRESS/NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS
ALL MEMBERS: It
is your responsibility to make sure that the Club has your current home
address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc., for you to continue receiving
your monthly newsletter and any other important communications.
1. Monthly CSC newsletters cost $ .33 each to print and $ .26 each to “bulk mail” out.
2. The USPS WILL NOT HOLD NOR FORWARD any “Bulk Mail” items when they are or are not notified of an address change or any ‘temporary mail hold’ by the postal customer. These items are marked ‘return to sender’ and include the monthly CSC newsletters.
3. Returned newsletters are marked “POSTAGE DUE” and cost $ .42 each (First Class Postage) to retrieve from the USPS/Post Office. The Club is averaging 2 or 3 per month.
“TEMPORARILY AWAY” – individual is on an extended vacation, gone for the winter, or out of town for an extended job assignment.
“MOVED TO A NEW ADDRESS” – is self-explanatory.
4. Members that receive their monthly newsletter “VIA E-MAIL” must also notify the Club Webmaster when their e-mail address changes to avoid the dreaded “Unable to Deliver” notice.
