It is warming up & outdoor shooting is taking off. REMEMBER—all shots must impact in the berm, not the ground.  Safety—Safety—Safety—AT ALL TIMES.  This is a must.

Please pickup targets, bottles, cans, hulls when you are done shooting as per range rules # 9 and 12.

ALL MEMBERS:  It is YOUR responsibility to make sure that the Club has your current home address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.  If you leave town, bulk mail is not forwarded.  If you don’t ask us to mail to an alternate address or to suspend your mailings until you return, & we get ‘failure to deliver’ notices on you (& return postage fees), we will drop you from the mailings until you let us know your current info or status.

Chillicothe Sportsmen’s Club is raffling off an M1 Garand. It is a CMP unit,SA collector grade metal in excellent to new condition. Walnut stock and handguard and associated hardware are new manufacture—not original SSA manufacture.

Mauser Matches: Results from the April 10th match:

High Raw Score: 190-4X Martin Lehman - M48 Yugo Mauser

First: 230-2X Vince Stubbs - M1903 Springfield

Second: 199-0X Brian Cox - M38 

Third: 197-4X Martin Lehman - M48 Yugo Mauser

The 8mm Ball Ammo challenge went to Brian Cox  who shot

a 197-0X with his Turk Mauser.  Ray Ellington and Justin

Howeler were runners up.


Mauser Matches

Results from the May 8th match:

High Raw Score: Paul Bishop used a Czech VZ24 Mauser to fire 196-5X 

First: Bob Killion, 201-4X - K31 Schmidt-Rubin

Second: Paul Bishop, 198-5X - Czech VZ24 Mauser

Third: Keith Kohler, 197-3X - Chinese SKS

The $100 Rifle challenge went to Keith Kohler who shot a 197-3X with his Chinese SKS. 

Next match is June 26th.  The special challenge is "Cast Bullets".  Mauser Matches are shot with centerfire rifles with open sights and with unimproved pre-1964 military bolt action repeaters on the SR-1 target from standing at 50 meters.  Call Max Koehl at 385-1033 with any questions.

Sister Club Activity:  Put this event on your calendar


The Annual King's Shoot, Bird Shoot and Speed Shoot will be held on August 15th on Range #1 at 10 AM.  You'll need a few bucks and a .22 caliber rifle, preferably with a 50-meter zero.  Direct any questions to Paul Bishop at 243-9323.

Wonder what all the acronyms used out on the range and in this newsletter mean? This area of the newsletter is dedicated to helping explain these. If I forget some or misidentify them, please let me know.
